Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Mid-Autumn Festival related celebrations couldn’t be held on campus. In order to let students feel a strong festive atmosphere and ease the anxiety during the epidemic, International College of Xiamen University, innovated form and held a live broadcast of the Mid-Autumn Festival "Cloud Gala" through the Wechat video account “ International College of Xiamen University”. The event not only brought wonderful online programs to the students, but also integrated the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival culture into it, allowing the students to gain during play, and further promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and achieved good effects. The live broadcast room received more than 1000 viewers, a total of 1206 interactions, and 51,000 likes.

At 19:30, the live broadcast event officially began. The recitation of of hosts, Xia Dizhe and Ke Dong brought everyone into a strong festive atmosphere. Students of International College from all over the world appeared in the live broadcast room. They recited different versions of "A Tranquil Night" in different dialects from all over the world. Blessings were passed on to each other through the live broadcast room. A song "Wish man live long as he can" brought by Wang Siyu, sent sincere holiday wishes to everyone, which resonated strongly with the students of International College around the world. Everyone sang and interacted together, and the live event was brought to a climax in the wonderful street dance performance by Fei Zifan.

In addition to the wonderful online performances, the students who watched the "Cloud Gala" offline are also the protagonists of this party. The hosts of the branch venue brought the live broadcast into the students’ dormitory by connecting the microphones, bringing offline audiences online, allowing the students who can only spend the holidays in the dormitory to break through the space restrictions and move online to celebrate the festival together. Whether  the indoor fitness and mini billiards in the male dormitory, or the music party in the girls' dormitory, the indoor party was held with great success.

How could the Bobing (mooncake gambling) game be missing in the Mid-Autumn Festival? For this "Cloud Reunion", the college has prepared a variety of gifts and a novel form of online Bobing for everyone. The teachers and classmates in the live broadcast room took turns to show up. Everyone was enthusiastic. Nearly a thousand people participated in the lucky draw to experience the traditional culture of southern Fujian.

The novel "Cloud Festival" live broadcast brought a whole new experience to the students. "When the live broadcast arrived in our dormitory, I was really surprised. I didn’t expect that I could be a member of the live broadcast and bring joy to everyone. Although we can’t travel this Mid-Autumn Festival, this live broadcast allows everyone to spend the festival together and have souvenirs. It's really a very good memory." Student Jin Renzhe said. He also told us that many students in the dormitory had won prizes. Watching the live broadcast and guessing lantern riddles together was the happiest moment in the dormitory.

Student Ke Dong who participated in the live broadcast also said: "This is my first live broadcast. Being a assistant, I’m a little nervous. But everyone's response is very good. Especially the Bobing game is very exciting, the students registered enthusiastically, and it is very festive. Thanks to the teachers and students for their hard work."

Student Ren Haoyu, the "top winner" of the Bobing game, said excitedly when he won the final prize: "I used to think that I was a winning insulator, and today I didn’t get a draw in the first few rounds of the Bobing game. Everyone was very excited and participated in the interaction. In the last round, roommates gathered and waited for the result of the last round. When they knew that I was the "top winner", the whole dormitory was abuzz with excitement.

The sudden outbreak of the epidemic caused the Rubik's Cube of life in Xiamen to be randomly twisted.
